From Our Pastures to Your Freezer

When you buy beef directly from our family ranch, you’re investing in 100% traceable, ranch-raised beef you can feel good about serving. We offer whole, half, and quarter beef shares so you can choose the option that fits your freezer, your family, and your budget.

Below is a simple breakdown of how each option works and what you can expect.

How it works

  1. Reserve your share with a deposit.
  2. We continue to care for your animal on our ranch until harvest.
  3. Harvest and processing are scheduled with a trusted ranch butcher and custom butcher shop.
  4. You choose your cutting instructions (especially for whole beef).
  5. Pick up your boxed, frozen beef and enjoy a freezer full of premium cuts.

Whole Beef: Best Value

Purchasing a whole beef gives you the best value from nose to tail—steaks, roasts, specialty cuts, and plenty of ground beef.

Pricing & Deposit

  • Live animal: $2.80/lb (live weight)
  • $300 deposit required to reserve
  • $240 harvest charge per head

You purchase the live animal from us—we own it, raise it, and care for it until harvest. We schedule and pay the ranch butcher, who comes to the ranch for harvest and then transports the beef to the custom butcher shop.

Cut & Wrap

  • Cut, wrap, and vacuum sealing: $1.40/lb, paid directly to the butcher (subject to change at discretion of butcher shop)
  • Packages are vacuum sealed and labeled with cut and weight for easy freezer organization

With the whole option, you can truly make it your own:

  • Package size (lbs per package)
  • Steak thickness
  • Ground beef preferences (including custom hamburger patties)
  • Whether you’d like to keep specialty meats

The butcher will call you to walk through your cutting instructions, and we’re always happy to help you decide what will work best for your household. You’re welcome to choose the custom butcher of your choice—we frequently work with and recommend Dave’s Meat in Modesto.

Half Beef: Customer Favorite

Our half beef option is great for families who want variety without committing to a full animal.

  • $2,100 – cut and wrap included
  • Approximate finished weight: 180–240 lbs
  • $300 deposit required

Cuts are processed to our standard butcher specs for a balanced mix of steaks, roasts, and ground beef:

  • Ground beef: 1 lb packages, 85/15 grind
  • Roasts: 3–4 lb each
  • Steaks: ~1″ thick, 2 per package
  • Stew meat: 1 lb packages
  • Soup bones included (perfect for bone broth)

Quarter Beef: Perfect Starter Share

A quarter beef is a great way to try ranch-raised beef, split with another household, or fit a smaller freezer.

  • $1,300 – cut and wrap included
  • Approximate finished weight: 90–140 lbs
  • $300 deposit required

Quarter beef shares are cut to the same standard specs as our half beef:

  • 1 lb packages of 85/15 ground beef
  • 3–4 lb roasts
  • 1″ steaks, 2 per package
  • 1 lb stew meat packages
  • Soup bones included

About Weights & Processing

All weights are approximate. We guarantee the base pounds for each share, and final weights can rise above the listed averages depending on the individual animal. We work closely with our USDA process and do our very best to help customers understand how live weight, hanging weight, and finished (boxed) weight relate to each other.
